Commerce Energy, Inc. is owned by Just Energy Group Inc., a publicly traded company (TSX:JE) that serves 1.8 million customers across North America. Our business involves the sale of natural gas and electricity to residential and commercial customers.

Q2. Is Commerce Energy licensed in the State of Georgia?

Commerce Energy has been approved and certified by the Georgia PSC as a Natural Gas Marketer in the state of Georgia.

Q3. Are you affiliated with the local distribution company?

Commerce Energy is a licensed competitive energy supplier and is NOT your utility and definitely not associated with Atlanta Gas and Light Company, the government or any consumer group.

Q4. What causes natural gas prices to rise?

Natural gas prices in the producing regions of North America are determined by the competitive forces of supply and demand. The short-term or spot price fluctuates daily due to several factors, including weather and short-term disruptions. For instance, a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, or a snap deep freeze in Western Canada, two of the largest gas producing regions, can affect the short-term price of natural gas. Longer-term gas prices are determined by population and economic growth and by factors such as environmental policies.

Q5. How do I benefit by signing with Commerce Energy?

Commerce Energy offers you choice, flexibility and competitive rates for your natural gas supply. As in the past, your local distribution company delivers your gas and provides 24-hour emergency service. They will also provide service related to your meter.

Q6. How do I cancel this agreement?

Our RateShield product customers are able to cancel their agreement, with no penalty for up to 3 days from the date of their first bill with Commerce Energy. Call, email or fax us. After this period, a cancellation fee of $75 for each full or partially uncompleted year of service.
Our Georgia Saver customers are able to cancel their agreement at any time with no penalty. Call, email or fax us.
